LAS CRUCES, N.M. — Janis Erll carded in a top five finish to power the Texas A&M University-Commerce men's golf team to place third at the Herb Wimberly Intercollegiate this week at the New Mexico State Golf Course.

Erll made his Lion debut and finished in a tie for fourth with a score of 207 (68-68-70), while the Lions posted a team score of 853 (285-284-284), finishing nine strokes back of Midland Community College and four ahead of UIW.

'I'm proud of where we finished up at New Mexico State,' said Director of Golf Brian Dolehide. 'We were able to string three solid rounds of golf together this week. We need to tighten up a few things when we get home, but we've got some good momentum headed into La-

    Tour next week!'

New Mexico State won its home tournament by 17 strokes, shooting an 825 as a team. The Aggies' Alexandre Bauduin was the individual medalist with a score of 202, three strokes better than any other golfer in the field. Erll tied with NMSU's Javier Delgadillo for fourth, two back of Midland CC's Bryce Womack and NMSU' Mateo Payan.

Elsewhere for the Lions, Nicke Kaajavirta tied for 10th with a score of 212 (73-70-69), Cooper Watt tied for 33rd with a score of 217 (70-73-74), Sam Benson tied for 39th with a score of 218 (74-73-71), and Blake Taylor took 68th with a score of 228 (79-72-77).

The Lions continue the fall season at the LaTour Intercollegiate next week in Mathews, Louisiana.
