Will help athletes improve their skills

With the summer rapidly approaching, Sulphur Springs ISD will be hosting various sports camps during summer break. These camps will help young athletes learn about sports and also improved their skills.

VOLLEYBALL

From May 28 to 29, a volleyball camp will be held at the Sulphur Springs Middle School gym. There will be two sessions. Session One will be for incoming first through fifth grade students from 9 to 11 a.m., and Session Two will be for incoming sixth through ninth grade students from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The registration fee is $40. The pre-registration deadline is May 22. Participants my register on the first day of camp, but will no be guaranteed a t-shirt.

FOOTBALL

From May 28 to 30, a football camp will be held at the Multipurpose Building. There will be two sessions: Session One is for incoming kindergarten to fifth grade students from 8 to 10 a.m., and Session Two is for incoming sixth through ninth grade students from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The registration fee is $50. The pre-registration deadline is May 22. Participants my register on the first day of camp, but will no be guaranteed a t-shirt.

Equipment needs include a shirt, shorts, and shoes, with cleats being optional.

SOFTBALL

From May 28 to 30, a softball camp will be held at the Multipurpose Building. Two sessions will be held: Session One will be for incoming first through fifth grade students from 1:30 to 3 p.m., and Session Two will be for incoming sixth through ninth grade students from 3 to 4:30 p.m.

The registration fee is $50. The pre-registration deadline is May 22. Participants my register on the first day of camp, but will no be guaranteed a t-shirt.

Equipment needs include: water, cleats, bat, athletics shoes, glove, helmet, and catcher’s gear (if the camper is a catcher).

TENNIS

From May 29 to 30, a tennis camp will be held at the Sulphur Springs High School tennis courts. There will be two sessions: Session One is for incoming kindergarten through fifth grade students from 8:30 to 10 a.m., and Session Two is for incoming sixth through ninth grade students from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The registration fee is $50. The pre-registration deadline is May 22. Participants my register on the first day of camp, but will no be guaranteed a t-shirt.

Equipment needs include athletics shoes and a tennis racket.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

From May 30 to 31, a girls basketball camp will be held at the Sulphur Springs High School gym. Two sessions will be held: Session One is for incoming first through fifth grade students from 9 to 11 a.m., and Session Two is for incoming sixth through ninth grade students from 12 to 2 p.m.

From June 4 to 6, a baseball camp will be held at the Multipurpose Building. Two sessions will be held: Session One will be for incoming first through third grade students from 1 to 2:30 p.m., and Session Two will be for incoming fourth through ninth grade students from 2:30 to 4 p.m.

The registration fee is $50. The pre-registration deadline is May 29. Participants my register on the first day of camp, but will no be guaranteed a t-shirt.

Equipment needs include a helmet, bat, glove, catcher’s gear, and cleats.

BOYS BASKETBALL

From July 8 to 10, a boys basketball camp will be held at the Sulphur Springs High School gym. Two sessions will take place: Session One is for incoming first through third grade students 9 to 10:30 a.m., and Session Two will be for incoming fourth through ninth grade students from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The registration fee is $50. The pre-registration deadline is July 3. Participants my register on the first day of camp, but will no be guaranteed a t-shirt.

Equipment needs include athletic clothes and gym shoes.

SOCCER

From July 15 to 17, a soccer camp will be held at the Multipurpose Building. The camp is open to all incoming kindergarten through ninth grade students from 6 to 8 p.m.

The registration fee is $50. The pre-registration deadline is July 8. Participants my register on the first day of camp, but will no be guaranteed a t-shirt.

Equipment needs include water, cleats, athletic shoes, and a soccer ball.
