City Cemetery Society June meeting minutes

The City Cemetery Society met on Tuesday, June 11, at Myra Wilson Chapel on cemetery grounds.

The meeting was opened with The Lord’s Prayer.

Members attending included Jim and Annada Jones, Carole Swindell, Doris Dobson, Debbie Barrett, Cathy Bonner, and Jimmy and Dena Lloyd.

Minutes from a previous meeting were read by Debbie Barrett, secretary. They were approved as read.

Jim Jones gave a financial report.

Annada Jones led discussions in old business and new business.

The memorial report was given to the board. Memorials and donations were as follows:

„ Jean Strickland, given by Cindy Herron Sweat, City Cemetery Society, Denise and Reese Booher, Ruth Palmer, Barry and Beth Ward, Tommy and Carolyn Long, Michael and Barbara McKenzie, Mandy Kennedy, Gina Law, M. Nolan, Melody Pennington, Janet Filak Martin, Amy Russo, Terri Markquart, Jerry Graves, Janet Wheeler, Ben Anglin, Elizabeth Steinsick, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Helm, Cherri Gordon, Warren Brewer, Jr., Linda Bennett, Charlotte Henderson, Suanne Johnson, Debbie Barrett, and Carol Davis Irwin;

„ Michael Ray Moore, given by Angie Moore; and

„ Joe Dan and Maurine Avinger, given by Lilah A. Newton.

The meeting was adjourned.

The next meeting will be Tuesday, Aug. 13, in the Myra Wilson Chapel on cemetery grounds.

Anyone interested in helping to maintain the history of the cemetery is welcome to attend.
