    Sulphur Springs and Hopkins County law enforcement and emergency services activity from 5:30 a.m. Tuesday to 530 a.m. Friday included:

    Tuesday, July 16

    „ Deputies served Jonathan Bryant Edwards at 7:50 p.m. at the county jail, where the 34-year-old Sulphur Springs man was in custody, with a warrant for insufficient bond on a possession of less than 1 gram of a Penalty Group 1/1B controlled substance charge.

    „ A deputy transported Mary Angela Denton from Linda Woodman State Jail in Gatesville to Hopkins County jail, where the 54-year-old Sulphur Springs woman was held at 12:30 p.m. on a violation of probation — aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charge.

    Wednesday, July 17

    „ Deputies stopped at 12:14 a.m. to check on a motorist on Church Street near Loop 301. Upon contact with Grace Elizabeth Diana Jones, they noticed an open alcoholic beverage container. They had the 32-year-old Cooper woman step out of the Chevrolet Silverado. A search of the car yielded a jar that smelled of marijuana. Jones was arrested on a possession of drug paraphernalia charge, deputies noted in arrest reports.

    „ Deputies responded from 2:01 to 2:47 a.m. on Interstate 30 east at mile marker 114 to a vehicle crash.

    „ Hopkins County communications operators answered 200 non-emergency phone calls and 18 emergency 911 calls during the 24-hour period beginning at 5:30 a.m. Tuesday. Deputies responded to 41 calls for service, conducted one inmate transport between facility and made 16 traffic stops during the same 24hour period. Two people were booked into and two were released from Hopkins County Law Enforcement Center jail, which held 222 inmates at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday.

    „ Hopkins County firefighters responded from 10:36 to 10:54 p.m. to a fire on Interstate 30 east between mile marker 117 and 118.

    „ Deputies and troopers responded to vehicle crashes at 12:16 p.m. on State Highway 154 south near County Road 2300, at 1:57 p.m. on the north service road at FM 2653.

    „ Deputies responded at 2:20 p.m. to a vehicle crash on State Highway 11 at FM 2560

    „ Hopkins County firefighters and sheriff ’s deputies, and state troopers responded at 2:35 p.m. on Interstate 30 west at mile marker 116 in Brashear

    „ Hopkins County firefighters responded at 9:27 p.m. to a fire reported on County Road 1184. The fire had been extinguished and firefighters cleared the location at 11:22 p.m.

    Thursday, July 18

    „ Sheriff’s deputies transported Jarvis Dennis Johnson from Marion County jail in Indiana at 5:45 a.m. to Hopkins County jail, where the 38-year-old Indianapolis man was booked in on a warrant for violation of probation on an evading arrest with a vehicle charge.

    „ Martin Russell Mc-Queen was transported from Tipton County jail in Indiana at 6:45 a.m. to Hopkins County jail, where the 26-year-old Brashear man was booked in on a warrant for violation of probation on a manufacture or delivery of a Penalty Group 1 controlled substance in a drug-free zone charge.

    „ Deputies transported Kody Lane English from Tennessee Colony jail at 10 a.m. to Hopkins County jail, where the 28-year-old was booked in on a bench warrant for a burglary of a building charge.

    „ Haley Alexis Nichols was taken into custody at 10:30 a.m. at Webster Parish Sheriff ’s Office in Minden, Louisiana, and transported to Hopkins County jail. The 27-year-old Shreveport woman was booked into jail on a warrant for violation of probation on a possession of 1 gram or more but less than 4 grams of a Penalty Group 1 controlled substance charge.

    „ Hopkins County Sheriff's deputies responded to a vehicle crash on State Highway 19 south in Brashear from 6:37 to 7:29 a.m.

    „ Deputies were requested to conduct welfare checks on FM 3019 at 6:52 a.m., State Highway 11 west at 9:32 a.m., on Interstate 30 west at mile marker 118 at 4:31 p.m. and on County Road 1128 at 4:53 p.m.

    „ Cumby Police officers were asked to conduct a welfare check on Odom Street in Cumby a 12:53 p.m.

    „ Brinker firefighters re-sponded to a fire alarm sounded on FM 269 south in Pickton at 10:17 a.m.

    „ A woman contacted deputies at the sheriff ’s office to report a scam at 11:20 a.m. No additional information about the alleged con was noted.

    „ Deputies and state troopers responded from 12:33 to 2:33 p.m. to a vehicle crash at the Hopkins County Regional Civic Center.

    „ Cumby Police, Hopkins County firefighters and deputies, and troopers responded from 10 to 10:49 p.m. to a vehicle crash on State Highway 11 west at FM 275.

    „ County communications operators answered 183 non-emergency phone calls and 68 emergency calls. Deputies conducted six traffic stops, answered 78 calls for service and filed four offense reports. One person was booked into and 11 were released from Hopkins County jail, which held 212 inmates at 5:30 a.m. Thursday.

    Friday, July 19

    „ Sheriffs Office communications operators answered 185 non-emergency calls and 22 emergency calls. Deputies responded to 58 calls for service, conducted three inmate transports and made seven traffic stops. Four people were booked into and 10 were released from the county jail, which held 214 inmates at 5:30 a.m. Friday.
