The big story: As Florida universities crack down on student protesters, a civil rights organization is seeking compassion and leniency for at least one of those students. The Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression has called on University of Florida president Ben Sasse to reverse the suspension of graduate student Keely Gliwa, who also was denied her master’s degree.

Judge dismisses Trump classified documents case
A Florida judge appointed by Donald Trump has dismissed the criminal case against the former president on charges of mishandling top secret documents, saying the way that Special Counsel Jack Smith was appointed was improper. "Former President Trump's Motion to Dismiss Indictment Based on the Unlawful Appointment and Funding of Special Counsel Jack Smith is GRANTED," Aileen wrote in her order.
