Three arrested on crack trafficking charges
Three men were arrested recently on charges related to the trafficking of crack cocaine, according to the Mingo County Sheriff's Department. According to a criminal complaint written by Deputy T.J. Justice II, on July 9, he and Deputy M.E. Tiller were traveling in the Maher area when the deputies saw a Chevrolet Malibu that was halfway in the road.

Back then, football preparation was taking a backseat to the pending basketball coaching search. This time around, fall camp will be in the spotlight of the WVU sports world. Today we start the position-by-position preview for preseason camp. The Mountaineers went 9-4 last season, including beating up on UNC in a bowl game that ended with Neal Brown being covered in mayonnaise. West Virginia football enters the 2024 season with significant wind in its sails, so fall camp should be particularly interesting to watch next month. Ohio is getting another chunk of money from the Biden administration to clean up and plug abandoned oil and natural gas wells that plague the state's countryside. The Interior Department has awarded the state $57.25 million from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the federal law passed in 2021 that commits $1.2 trillion to fix roads and bridges, expand internet access, provide access to clean water, improve ports, invest in public transportation and other purposes. The law provides $16 billion to address what the Biden administration calls legacy pollution by reclaiming abandoned coal mines and plugging orphaned wells.
