Summerville Sweet Tea Shop to Open New Location

A Summerville sweet tea shop has closed its doors to prepare for a new chapter.

Currently located at 113 N Magnolia St , Sip of the South recently announced that it would temporarily close to prepare for “some real exciting news.” Now, that news has been revealed.

According to a post within the Lowcountry Eat Out! Facebook page, the sweet tea shop is working on a new location. In response to inquiries in the comments, Sip of the South owners Chad and Stacie Loudin shared, “We are working on the new location trying to make it perfect. If you would like a gallon let us know what you would like and we will deliver.”

Sip of the South launched last year after the Loudins noticed an absence of sweet tea shops in Summerville, the birthplace of the drink. They rallied friends, family, and locals to develop sweet teas akin to heavenly honey.

Lauded as South Carolina’s premier sweet tea provider, Sip of the South offers a daily rotation of at least 10 flavors, including fun options like Watermelon Crawl, Sweeter Than Peaches, and Tennessee Orange. The shop also serves a selection of coffee.

The specifics of whether this new shop will be a relocation or an additional site remain unclear, and no precise address or opening date has been disclosed yet. What Now Charleston has reached out to the Laudins for further details and will update this page accordingly.
