FEMA opened a Disaster Recovery Center Monday at the Marion County Fairgrounds in Summit and will open another Tuesday in Mountain Home to assist Arkansans affected by recent severe weather.

The Mountain Home center will be located at the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas, 1042 Highland Circle, Mountain Home, AR 72653.

The address of the Summit center is 513 East Seawell Ave., Summit, AR 72677.

Residents of Baxter, Benton, Boone, Fulton, Greene, Madison, Marion, and Randolph counties can visit the two centers to meet with representatives of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, U.S. Small Business Administration, Arkansas Division of Emergency Management and state agencies.

FEMA added Fulton, Greene, Madison and Randolph counties to Arkansas’ major disaster declaration last week. Assistance is available from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily; appointments are not required.

The Summit and Mountain Home recover centers are the third and fourth in-person operations that have opened since more than a dozen tornadoes ripped through the northern part of the state over Memorial Day weekend. The other two centers are located in Benton and Boone counties:

    • NorthWest Arkansas Community College, Becky Paneitz Student Center, SC 108, 12 SE Eagle Way, Bentonville, AR 72712.
    • Boone County Government Building, 220 N. Arbor Drive,  Harrison, AR 72601.

Residents do not have to visit a center to apply for assistance. FEMA can also be contacted via phone at 800-621-3362 between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m. Assistance is also available online at disasterassistance.gov or through the FEMA app.
