A rather scary incident reportedly unfolded at a Summit County campground in recent days.

According to the Summit County Sheriff's Office, their involvement started when a woman reported an "extremely intoxicated" male who had joined her group's campfire from a nearby campsite.

According to the woman, she told the man that she and her friends were planning to go to sleep and when she asked him to leave, he aggressively told the group that he was going to kill them all.

At this point, the man was reportedly so intoxicated he could barely walk.

When deputies arrived on the scene, they requested medical assistance due to his level of intoxication.

The man admitted to deputies that he was at the campfire and claimed that he felt threatened by the group, but was unable to explain why that was the case.

The man was ultimately given a summons for harassment and menacing and was released into the care of a sober friend.

The reporting party's group left their campsite and relocated for the night.
