Officials say fuels reduction work helped protect Breckenridge neighborhood from human-caused wildfire disaster
The small wildfire that broke out Sunday, July 7, on a ridgeline overlooking Breckenridge’s Wellington Neighborhood was just one-eighth of a mile from the nearest home. Officials have contained a small wildfire roughly the size of a quarter of an acre that was reported east of Breckenridge in unincorporated Summit County on Sunday, July 7. The fire, which ignited in a clearing along a ridge line overlooking the north side of Breckenridge’s Wellington Neighborhood, was reported shortly before 1 p.m., said White River National Forest spokesperson David Boyd.
Keystone approves short-term rental regulations with potential for more changes on the horizon
