SUMMIT, NJ -- As one of Summit's primary attractions for the past 50 years, the Reeves-Reed Arboretum continues to be a beautiful, natural setting where visitors can take advantage of so many different activities that caters to all ages.
Among such splendor of gardens and quaint surroundings, the sound of music always seems to echo throughout the storied grounds.
The music will take center stage as Reeves-Reed Arboretum is continuing its year-long celebration of its 50th Anniversary as a non-profit public garden with a special September concert in the garden!
The Suyat Band will be performing and bringing a touch of Hawaii to the Mainland and Reeves-Reed Arboretum at this Sunday afternoon performance, September 15, from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Steadily building a reputation as one of the most consistently crowd-pleasing live acts on the East Coast, The Suyat Band delivers high-energy hits from yesterday and today with rock-solid musicianship and warm-hearted Aloha spirit. Led by its namesake, Hawaiian-born Matthew Suyat, a champion at the Apollo Theater and American Idol Top 24 Finalist, the band has performed at such historic venues as NYC's BB King's, Stephen's Talkhouse, and NJ's Wellmont Theater.
"This concert is a tribute to the natural beauty and community spirit that have flourished at Reeves-Reed Arboretum over the past 50 years," shared Jackie Kondel, Executive Director. "We invite everyone to join us for this special occasion, where music and nature come together to celebrate our shared history and future."
Grounds will open at 3:00 p.m. for concertgoers to picnic. Attendees should bring their own blankets, lawn chairs and picnic baskets to enjoy an afternoon of music in the garden. 50/50 anniversary raffle tickets will be for sale and free fun tattoo stickers will be available for the kids.
