This year’s Leadership Aberdeen class has been raising funds for the past several months to purchase a snow maker machine and snow groomer to make Baird Hill a safer, more usable sledding hill for families to use throughout the winter months. City approves change orders for Trojan Village and Public Works Building
The Madison City Commission approved three change orders at their meeting on Monday. The first change was for the Trojan Village Street Construction and Extension of Washington Avenue and Division Avenue. The existing subgrade was found to be soft and in need of stabilization. Aggregate thickness will be increased from 8” to 12” thick except at the intersection of Washington Avenue where it will be 16” thick.
Madison wins 14U VFW Region 3A
The Madison 14U VFW baseball team is heading to state, after taking the Region 3A tournament on Tuesday. Madison won games over Volga and Flandreau on Monday to open play. Volga then defeated Flandreau 21-8 on Tuesday to set up a rematch, with Madison needing to win one of two games against Volga to claim the region title. A large law enforcement presence went to Paullina Thursday Morning. Shortly before 10 am, O’Brien County officials received a call from an individual claiming to have shot another person and said they would commit further acts of violence against other individuals and law enforcement.
