Five SD communities receive Community Challenge grants
A-A-R-P has announced its 2024 Community Challenge grant recipients this week, including several in South Dakota. Nearly 4-million dollars is going out to about 350 organizations nationwide to fund quick-action projects to make communities more livable. South Dakota organizations have received a total of nearly 320-thousand dollars since 2017, supported by the state’s A-A-R-P chapter.

DTSF to launch ‘Lively & Beautiful Streets’ initiative
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Changes are coming to downtown Sioux Falls that could make it safer for pedestrians thanks to an AARP grant. DTSF said the new “Lively and Beautiful Streets” (LABS) project focuses on downtown streets to “create an environment where people can experience slower traffic, safer crossings and a more hospitable pedestrian realm.”
One seriously injured in rollover following two-vehicle crash
