The Gallatin Police Department has announced the passing of Investigator Charlie Harris.

Investigator Harris dedicated 27 years to the Gallatin Police Department, where he held various positions, including Bike Officer, Field Training Officer, and Detective. He is especially remembered for his significant contributions to the FBI Violent Crime Task Force and was a proud graduate of the FBI National Academy, Session 212.

Prior to joining the Gallatin Police Department, Charlie served in the U.S. Marine Corps with the Marine Helicopter Presidential Squadron, where he had the distinguished honor of flying presidents and dignitaries around the globe as a crew chief on Marine One.

“[Harris] courageously battled cancer until the very end. His commitment to protecting and serving extended far beyond our city. Charlie’s leadership, dedication, and infectious spirit touched everyone he worked with. He will forever be remembered for his service, strength, and unwavering courage. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him,” Gallatin Police Department stated.
