Nashville Man Apprehended in Sumner County After Evading Arrest
June 24, 2024 – On Monday, a Nashville man fled from deputies at a high rate of speed during an attempted traffic stop on Highway 386. He briefly evaded arrest, traveling from Gallatin into Hendersonville. Officers from the Hendersonville, TN Police Department located the vehicle shortly thereafter at a shopping center off Indian Lake Boulevard.

HENDERSONVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - A Nashville man was arrested after a pursuit throughout Sumner County on Monday evening, according to the sheriff’s office. The sheriff’s office said the suspect fled from deputies at a high rate of speed during an attempted traffic stop on Highway 386. He fled from law enforcement from Gallatin into Hendersonville.

SUMNER COUNTY, Tenn. (WZTV) — A suspect out of Nashville was taken into custody on various charges in Sumner County after a police pursuit Monday evening. William Blackwell of Nashville drove off from deputies at a high rate of speed during an attempted traffic stop on Highway 386, Sumner County Sheriff's Office reports. He was able to evade arrest at first by traveling from Gallatin to Hendersonville.

GALLATIN, Tenn. (WSMV) - A man wanted for stealing fireworks was arrested on Sunday, the Sumner County Sheriff’s Office said. The sheriff’s office said an employee at MAD Fireworks on Hartsville Pike called early Sunday morning reporting a theft in progress. Despite the employee’s efforts, the sheriff’s office said the suspect had stolen fireworks worth thousands of dollars.

Mary Frances Jones Farris, age 91, passed away on June 21, 2024. She was born on July 21, 1932, to the late Andrew Jones and Mamie “Smith” Jones. She is preceded in death by husband, Earnest L. Farris; parents, Andrew and Mamie “Smith” Jones; daughter, Sherry Brown; one brother, Charles Jones; and two sisters, Dora Mae Hawks, and Irene Bishop.
