NEWTON AMERICAN LEGION QUEEN OF HEARTS DRAWING THIS FRIDAY
(NEWTON) It’s another Queen of Hearts drawing this Friday night at 6:30 at the American Legion Post 20 in Newton, with tickets on sale up until draw time, and a jackpot at $12,495. The Queen’s Menu includes a choice of chicken livers for $12, a fish sandwich for $10, or a double cheese burger for $10, each with a side and serving starts at 5:00. Either dine in or carry out this Friday night at 108 East Jourdan Street in Newton. Call ahead at 618-783-2622.
LEMONADE STAND TO HELP THE NEWTON ELEMENTARY LIBRARY
(NEWTON) To help the Newton Elementary School Library, stop by “The Freeze” in Newton this Thursday from 10:00 to 1:00. Wade and Halle Schackmann will have a lemonade stand set up during that time with all donations going to help the Elementary School Library.
Free Swim Day Planned at Pelican Cove
(Undated) – If you are looking to take the kiddos to Pelican Cove, tomorrow you can do it for free. That was Robinson Mayor, Mike Shimer. The “Free Swim Day” runs from 12:30 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. tomorrow and everyone who comes to the pool will get in for free. The Robinson Parks Department will also be grilling up hotdogs and serving drinks free of charge.
