Wild Golf Cart Chase In The Villages Ends In Drunk Driving Arrest

Sumter County, FL - A Lake County man is facing DUI charges after leading Sumter County deputies on a high-speed chase through The Villages in a golf cart last week.

According to authorities, deputies observed 21-year-old Christopher Esdale driving erratically in a red golf cart on County Road 466 on Friday morning.

Despite repeated attempts to stop the vehicle, Esdale allegedly continued driving on unauthorized roadways, ignoring flashing lights and verbal commands.

A pursuit ensued, with Esdale driving recklessly to evade capture.

Deputies eventually apprehended Esdale after a brief foot chase.

Esdale was arrested on charges of fleeing and eluding law enforcement, resisting arrest, and driving under the influence of alcohol.
