Temple Beth Shalom of the West Valley Rabbi Dana Evan Kaplan will soon lead a four-part interfaith course looking at contemporary antisemitism and attempting to analyze its sources and likely results.

The classes will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Mondays, April 1, 8, 15 and 22 at 12202 N. 101st Ave. Individuals of all faiths are welcome and invited to attend.

“After the murder of six million Jews by the Nazis during World War II, all civilized people have been determined to avoid any type of antisemitism at all cost. Antisemitism, they reasoned, was a historical phenomena. But then in the aftermath of Oct.7, antisemitism seems to have made a dramatic resurgence,” Kaplan said.

Prior to becoming the rabbi at Temple Beth Shalom in 2019, Kaplan served congregations in Georgia, Alabama, Wisconsin, Jamaica and South Africa. He is an authority on Reform Judaism in the United States and the author of several books on Reform Judaism.

Cost for the series is $20 for members and $35 for non-members. Deadline for registration is noon March 27.

To register and pay the course fee, call the Temple office at 623-977-3240.
