The Sun City Ukulele Club has three or four open mics a year, where club members prepare a song and perform it for their fellow club members and guests.

“Goodbye to Snowbirds” was the theme of the most recent program, which also included a raffle for a ukulele donated by Brian Bayha.

The club raised $270 with this raffle. Their plan is to buy ukuleles and donate them to local libraries, as they have done for the Fairway and Bell libraries. Patrons can check out a ukulele just like they do a book or DVD.

The Sun City Ukulele Club meets all year, 3 p.m. every Thursday, in the Fairway Music Room (unless preempted by holidays or special programs). It is open to RCSC members and no previous skills are needed.

Visit scukes.org or contact club president Trudy Bryson at 480-276-3780 or trudybryson@cox.net for more information.
