    Elsie, known as Kathy or Kitty to her friends of Sun City, Arizona passed away on March 12, 2024, at the age of 83. She was born on September 3, 1940, in Stockton, California where she grew up.
    She graduated from Stagg High School in 1958. Attended Chabot College in Hayward, California and San Joaquin Delta College in Stockton, California.She worked as an Accountant in several businesses including many years with Harold W. Thompson, Inc. floor covering.
    She was personally involved in helping establish the California Bluegrass Association (CBA). She was a lifetime CBA member and held several offices on the board including president and treasurer. She loved the holidays and especially decorating the whole house at Christmas time.
    She is preceded in death by her parents: Marion W. and Olive Harry Evans, four siblings: James Evans, Norman Evans, Donald Evans and Myrna Smith. She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Eugene B. Kirkpatrick. Kathy and Gene loved to travel and every summer in their RV toured the United States. They visited all 48 States at least 3 times in their travels.
    Kathy is survived by 3 siblings: Neale Evans, Lora Kleespiess and Barbara Evans. She is the mother of 4 children: Thomas Williams, Lori Logan, James Tapken and Duane Tapken. She is the proud grandmother of 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
    At her request there will be no services.
