Sol Flower Sun City celebrates 420 Day

Sol Flower Cafe Sun City is hosting a special event April 20 from 8 a.m. to 4:20 p.m. in honor of 420 Day and to celebrate its reopening this summer.

The term 420 is cannabis culture slang for marijuana and hashish consumption, especially smoking around the time 4:20 p.m. It also refers to cannabis-oriented celebrations that take place annually on April 20.

The event, at its 13650 N. 99th Ave. location, will feature special giveaways, live music and a food truck by Heat Coffee.

Resident staffer Karen Nestor, cannabis educator, serves as a guide and educator to the local public. She conducts classes that are open to the public on cannabis, meditation, EFT tapping, and mindfulness in their community gathering space.

Approximately 85% of older adults deal with at least one chronic health condition. With seniors being the fastest growing population of cannabis users in the United States, many are turning to THC to aid them with sleep, pain management and to treat anxiety.
