Members of Sun City’s National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, Agua Fria Chapter, donated baby items and supplies for new mothers at the May monthly meeting.

Program speaker Joan Sisco enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1974 and was honorably discharged in 1977 at the rank of Sergeant, E-5. She formed the nonprofit Veterans First Ltd. organization, which has been serving veterans since 2003.

Her mission is to help prevent homelessness and stabilize lives of veterans with special emphasis on women, disabled, and senior veterans. Sisco was inducted into the Arizona Veterans Hall of Fame, class of 2009.

Sisco’s program introduced the chapter Daughters to the Phoenix and Prescott VA Maternity Outreach for Veteran Families Program, which furnishes items to go into totes for babies and a care bag for mothers.

Those with questions can contact program manager Jennifer Little at 602-989-7207 or jlittle@veteransfirstltd.org, or Sisco at 602-841-7663 or jsisco@veteransfirstltd.org.
