Summer Strummers keep Sun City Ukulele Club active

While some have left Sun City for the summer, more than 40 members of the Sun City Ukulele Club continue to meet and jam every Thursday at the Fairview center. They call themselves the Summer Strummers.

The success of the summer program is due to the volunteer leaders Mike Schiff, Ginny Steenstra, Sharon Raimon and Sandy Mitchell. They make sure there are song leaders, projectionists, sound systems and the required administrative functions in place for every jam so the experience for members is seamless and no different from the winter months. A performance or two may also be in the works.

The Sun City Ukulele Club meets 3 p.m. Thursdays all year, in the Fairway Music Room (unless preempted by holidays or special programs). The club is open to RCSC members and no previous skills are needed.
