Seniors can attend prom at Banner Olive Branch Senior Center

The Banner Olive Branch Senior Center and Oak Street Health will host a first-ever senior prom tomorrow.

Banner Olive Branch Senior Center & Oak Street Health will host a senior prom from 4-6 p.m.  Tuesday, June 18, at Banner Olive Branch Senior Center, 13049 N 103rd Avenue.

This event is for adults 60 years of age and older, will be a nostalgic evening of dancing and celebration. The theme of the night is ‘The Fabulous 1950s’ and prom goers can expect all the best music from the 1950s and 1960s, as well as photos, hors d’oeuvres, and even a prom king and queen crowning at the end of the night.

“We’re hosting prom because it’s a great opportunity for our seniors to socialize,”  Jennifer Lawless Banner Olive Branch Senior Center Director said.  “Many seniors suffer from loneliness, and we’re really looking to combat that by offering in-person activities – especially those that are nostalgic in nature and offer an element of physical activity, such as dancing.”
