Artists by the Lake Club members were challenged recently to create their vision of farm life. Some members visualized the western farm with cowgirls and horses while some members represented the Midwestern version with the red barn, green fields and silo. Some artists created an amusing painting and some are more serious but there were 17 unique paintings created by the members for this painting challenge in a variety of mediums.

July classes are now forming in drawing, oil and acrylic painting from beginner to advanced level, pastel and mixed media. Stop by the art room on the second floor of Lakeview Recreation Center to sign up for classes and join the club. Individuals must be a current Artists by the Lake or Palo Verde member to take a class but anyone may stop by when the club is open. Club membership is open to anyone with a valid RCSC card and ten dollars.

The “Farm Life” display is outside the art room and can be viewed at any time.

Summer hours are 9 a.m.-noon Monday, 9 a.m.-noon Wednesday, 9 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Thursday and 1-4 p.m. Friday. If no one is there, contact Deb Dahlin at 315-491-9650.
