Sun City church announces meals, programs

Lakeview United Methodist Church, 10298 W. Thunderbird Blvd., has announced the menus for its July meal/fellowship program of TNT (Thursday Night Together). Meals begin at 5 p.m. in Smoot Hall and consist of a salad bar, entree, dessert and beverage (iced water, lemonade, iced tea, coffee). After the meals, there will be a program or a guest speaker.

In addition, there will be a performance after the July 25 meal at 6:30 p.m. in Smoot Hall. Lakeview member Jerry Hicks (tenor) and Lakeview choir member Sandra Ferrara (soprano) will showcase their talents by performing duets of the classics, contemporary hits and originals.

The meals are prepared by Chef Larnell Benton and cost $8 per person for each meal, and $9 per person for a to-go meal. Reservations must be made by 4 p.m. the Tuesday before the event. The dates, programs and menus are: July 11 - Welcome Pastor Brandon Gilmore (chicken and shrimp alfredo, asparagus, bread sticks); July 18 -Larry Klein, former balloon pilot, recounting his balloon experiences (meat loaf, mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables); and July 25 - concert series (crusted cod, garlic butter rice, steamed broccoli).
