Oppressive heat is headed to Southern California. The National Weather Service says the high temperatures will pick up today and Saturday. Anywhere inland of Downtown Los Angeles will experience warming, with 93 to 103 degrees common for highs. Excessive heat warnings are in place for the Antelope and Santa Clarita Valleys through Wednesday, where the mercury is expected to hit 110 degrees.
