    Geraldine “Gerry” Domino Shaw left this earth for her next journey on July 29, 2024. Gerry was born November 11, 1920, in Clyde Kansas to Mary (Slipsager) and Raymond Domino. She attended school in Clyde Kansas graduating from high school in 1938 as salutatorian. From there she went to Grand Island Business College in Nebraska on a scholarship.

    In May 1941 she received her civil service appointment and headed off to Washington DC to work for the War Department at the Pentagon.

    She married Richard Thies in August 1945, moved to AZ in 1947 and had two sons, James Raymond Thies and Larry Edward Thies.

    While living in Arizona she worked for the State Legislature running the stenographer pool and later worked for the Farmers Home Administration.

    After divorcing in 1968, she met the love of her life, Ted Shaw. They were married in 1975.

    In 1985 she retired and moved to Sun City in 1986, losing Ted only a year later.

    While living in Sun City she was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Sun City. She enjoyed Golf, bridge, and traveling into her 90s.

    Gerry was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Edna and Jeanne, brothers Max and Louis as well as her sons James and Larry.

    She is survived by her sister Millie Buche, granddaughter Suzanne (Art) Godard, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

    Services will be held August 7, 2024 at 11am. 1st Presbyterian Church of Sun City, 12225 N. 103rd Ave, Sun City, AZ.
