Annual ARC car show a success in Sun City West

The Automotive/Restoration Club of Sun City West held its 12th annual car show Feb. 10, lining Mustangs, Corvettes, GTOs and other classic cars in the R.H. Johnson center parking lot.

The event takes months to plan and utilizes more than 200 club volunteers. While the number of cars was down a bit from last year, attendance was up according to car show chairman Gary Masak, who stated, “People just know a good thing, and our show is one of the better car shows.”

Businesses who helped sponsor the car show were there in full force with many service and product offerings and food vendors provided a variety of items. At 2:15 p.m. the winning tickets were drawn for the “Dream Car” raffle, a red 2016 Mustang. The winner of the car was Sun City West resident Byron Jones. The second place winner of $500 cash was Gretchen Graham and the third place winner of $200 cash was Susan Malting.

At 2:30 p.m. the winning tickets were drawn for the “prize raffle” of 13 prizes. Finally, the 53 coveted trophies were presented to the winners in various classes of cars.
