Members of Scrapbooking, Papercrafts & More recently crafted paper totes, which they decorated with pastel colored Easter images and filled with chocolate for Sun City West Meals on Wheels program.

SPAM’s MOW program coordinator Sally Erickson organized the philanthropic workshop.

The hand-crafted Easter baskets are designed to bring cheer to home-bound residents who, despite being unable to participate in local activities, know they’re not forgotten during special holidays.

Member Lavonda Beukers taught a “Mistry Card” class where participants learned how to cut a 12x12-inch sheet of “ugly” designer paper to make unique backgrounds for six cards. With the addition of embellishments each participant made a set of distinctive greeting cards and the quandary of what to do with the odd sheets of paper all card makers acquire is no longer a mystery.

Those interested in stamping, cardmaking or scrapbooking (traditional or digital) can visit SPAM’s clubroom meet members, and check out the club’s crafting inventory.

    SPAM meets in Beardsley’s Agave Room on Wednesdays (4-9 p.m./winter), Thursdays (10 a.m.-3 p.m.), Fridays (10 a.m.-3 p.m.) and Saturdays (10 a.m.-5 p.m.).

Call club president Lynne Marion at 440-666-6386 for more information.
