Jolene Piaskowski made 127 hand-crafted greeting cards, which in turn became 528 Pop-Tarts. Piaskowski put the cards in a box at Rip ’N’ Sew, a Sun City West club she belongs to, and fellow club members donated money for the cards they took. With the money, Piaskowski bought 11 boxes of Pop-Tarts for Hart Pantry in Peoria; each box holds 48 Pop-Tarts. Rip ’N’ Sew usually donates peanut butter to the pantry, which serves at-risk teens in the West Valley, but the size of peanut butter jars the pantry prefers was unavailable. Pantry volunteer Ruth Langford suggested Pop-Tarts, which Hart Pantry can always use.
