Arizona United States Senate candidate Mark Lamb emphasized that the border, economy, crime and national security are his top campaign issues during the April 2 meeting of the Sun City West Republican Club at the Church on the Green, 19051 N. R.H. Johnson Blvd.

Trained as a Maricopa County deputy, Lamb has served as Pinal County Sheriff since 2017, during which time he has combated fentanyl and human smuggling and routinely searches for illegal immigrants in the desert. Adding that 37,000 Chinese military-age men entered the U.S. in 2023, compared to 450 in 2021, he also argued the U.S. cannot account for two-thirds of the 150,000 unaccompanied children who have been admitted.

Among the other guest speakers was Capt. Seth Keshel, an Army intelligence officer and 2020 election analyst, who urged attendees to prevent voter fraud by “getting engaged” and serving as precinct captains and poll watchers. He also urged Arizona to clean its voter rolls and avoid unattended ballot boxes to prevent ballot harvesting.

William “Bud” Meador, a retired military officer and PORA board member also spoke, as did Robert Branch, PhD, a Grand Canyon University professor and Maricopa Parks & Recreation Commission member. He is a candidate for Maricopa County Supervisor, District 4, which includes Sun City West. Branch reported that during his appointive tenure the commission has upgraded and added parks and increased their earnings from 49 cents to 94 cents per dollar spent.

The Sun City West Republican Club invites Republicans and Independents to attend its meetings on the first Saturday of the month at the Church on the Green. The next meeting is May 4.
