Washington State Club celebrates in final event in Sun City West

On April 9, 65 Washington State Club members reflected on the past season of experiences and hope to gain more residents next fall.

"We enjoyed fried chicken, baked beans, coleslaw, buns, cake, and cookies. For the vegetarians in our group we provided mac and cheese as the meat replacement," Karen Devers, Washington State Club member said.

Many club members will be heading back to Washington to enjoy the cooler summer months. This picnic was our final event until the fall when activities resume. The club took a recent tour of Luke Air Force Base to learn about what service members do and to show appreciation.

The crab feed had  raffles, silent auction baskets, and a band.

Fifty-two members watched the Seattle Mariners vs. Colorado Rockies Spring training game. Happily the Mariners won 12 to 3, and the weather was perfect.

Gathering for a cruise on Saguaro Lake was a new event.
