Sun City West Foundation has supported transit for the community for more than 25 years and continues to find ways to make sure everyone who needs a ride has the resources and information to get one.

Now, the foundation is starting a new program called Find-Your-Ride. The foundation will coordinate a transit information and resource call center along with monthly information classes.  The classes will be presented by Kathryn Chandler, the Find-Your-Ride mobility manager, and will focus on equipping  residents to use this new resource.

The objective with this program is to provide assistance to those looking for a ride solution.  Whether it is  a temporary solution after a medical procedure or following an accident or whether someone is considering retiring the car keys, program officials can find the right solution.

The first class is 10 a.m. Thursday, May 23, at the foundation, 14465 W R.H. Johnson Blvd., in the Quail Room. The class will include resources available for short and long trips, how to apply for and use the Ride Choice public transit service and help in navigating ride-share apps such as Lyft and Uber.

The  Foundation will provide a free ride to the first class. Call  602-662-4260 by Thursday,  May 16, to RSVP and, if needed, schedule a ride to the class.

The Find-Your-Ride Call Center will be open from 8 a.m. to noon Monday, June 3 .

Along with Helping Hands, the SCW Foundation provides support to several local service organizations.
