Despite the departure of the club’s snowbird members, Scrapbooking, Papercrafts, & More’s “firebird” members continue to learn new card styles and artistic techniques.

Member Lavonda Beukers recently taught a class on making a folding screen divider card. The folding card resembles a miniature version of a full-size screen divider, such as those often found in dressing rooms.

When unfolded, the four paneled card features a row of scrollwork along the top edge; along the bottom of each panel are two pedestal feet created using punch tools. The card is designed to be opened and displayed on a table or mantle.

Depending on the color of cardstock used for the base card, the accenting designer paper used in layers on each panel, and the accenting embellishments, the finished cards were uniquely varied depending on the individual tastes of each crafter.

Learn how to make greeting cards, papercrafts and scrapbooks (traditional or digital) by joining SPAM in Beardsley Center’s Agave Room on Thursdays (10 a.m.-3 p.m.), Fridays (10 a.m.-3 p.m.) and Saturdays (10 a.m.-5 p.m.).

Call club president Lynne Marion at 440-666-6386 for more information.
