Sun City West Republican Club slates candidates forum

The Sun City West Republican Club will host a special event 1:30-5 p.m. Saturday, June 22, in the main auditorium of the Palm Ridge Recreation Center, 13800 W. Deer Valley Drive.

As part of this year’s programming, the club once again brings Republican candidates on the July 30 Republican primary ballot to Sun City West to meet members and guests in person. Out of 31 candidates on the ballot, 29 have confirmed their attendance for the June 22 candidates forum.

The top offices on the ballot include United States Senate candidate Sheriff Mark Lamb and 8th District Congressional candidates Patrick Briody, Trent

Franks, Abe Hamadeh, Anthony Kern and Ben Toma. Other offices include Arizona Corporation Commission, Arizona LD28 state senator and state representatives, and Maricopa County candidates running for county attorney, county sheriff, county superintendent of schools and county treasurer. Candidates for the same office will be scheduled to speak together or in sequence to help the audience compare.

“This is going to be big folks! Mark your calendars for the afternoon of June 22. Bring your friends and relatives,” said club Vice President Linda Barnes.

The Primary Ballots will be mailed out July 3 so this may be the last chance to see candidates before voting begins.

All Republicans and Independents from the Sun Cities and surrounding areas are welcome to attend Sun City West Republican Club meetings. There is no charge for this event.
