The Sun City West Republican Club will meet Saturday, July 6, at Church on the Green, 19051 R.H. Johnson Blvd.

Social time is at 8:30 a.m. with coffee and donuts available, and the meeting starts at 9 a.m. (doors open at 8 a.m.). Paid-up members are admitted without a donation. A three dollar donation will be accepted at the door from non-members, which helps to pay for the room rental.

As 2024 is an election year, the Republican Club meetings provide an opportunity to meet candidates personally before the primary in late July and the general election in November.

This month’s format will be “Round Robin” (or musical chairs) rather than lecture. Thirty-one candidates from the July 30 SCW Republican primary ballot have been invited and will share their thoughts with six to eight members and guests at their round table. Every five minutes the timer will sound and each candidate will move to the next table while the members stay in place providing an opportunity for one-to-one conversation.

Among the 27 candidates who have confirmed attendance are Gina Godehere and Rachel Mitchell, running for Maricopa County attorney, and Shelli Boggs, Nickie Kelley and Steve Watson, running for Maricopa County superintendent of schools.

All Republicans and Independents from the Sun Cities and surrounding areas are welcome to attend.
