Much like quilters who treasure beautiful stashes of fabric, paper crafters feel the same way about their collections of designer paper. And much like quilting or other crafts, the paper crafters of Scrapbooking, Papercrafts & More club typically find themselves with leftover pieces of specialty paper when a project is completed.

Member Melissa Walker recently gave a workshop on how to look at these bits and pieces of designer paper in a new light and use them to create one-of-a-kind greeting cards. Rather than throwing leftovers away, paper odds and ends may be combined with others from a complementary color group or with scraps from the same color family; adding a dimensional pattern with an embossing folder and embellishing the card with a stamped image or greeting results is a unique greeting card and less waste.

Learn how to make greeting cards, scrapbooks (traditional or digital) and other paper crafts by joining SPAM in Beardsley center’s Agave Room on Thursdays (10 a.m.-3 p.m.), Fridays (10 a.m.-3 p.m.) and Saturdays (10 a.m.-5 p.m.).

Call club president Lynne Marion at 440-666-6386 for more information.
