Sun City West resident gets PCH Prize Patrol visit

Fahlon Brown, of the Publishers Clearing House Prize Patrol, traveled to Sun City West July 17 to award Julie Kirkland with a check for a brand new Ford Expedition.

Her husband David opened the door in complete shock: “Oh my goodness, Julie you need to come to the door now.”

Julie was in their living room at the time playing a game on the PCH+ app.

Julie and David contemplated initially about taking the car until Brown turned around a second check worth $58,165.

“We were just getting ready to buy a car. I’m shaking ... I don’t believe this right now. I’ve got goosebumps and it’s over 100° out!” said David.

“We could pay off our new windows and get a car if we take the cash,” added Julie.

Julie said he wasn’t expecting to win but knew it could happen. “My grandmother played the lottery one time and won enough money to live off it for 20 years!” she said.

David said the couple was going to celebrate at Firebirds Steakhouse and pop the champagne when they got home.
