Sun City West church plans lecture presentation

Professor Gary Rendsburg will speak at Advent Episcopal Church, 13150 Spanish Garden Drive, 9 a.m, Tuesday, Nov. 12. His presentation will be “England as the Custodian of the Jewish Past.”

Rendsburg serves as the Blanche and Irving Laurie Chair in Jewish history and is a distinguished professor in the Department of Jewish Studies at Rutgers University in New Jersey. His teaching and research focus on ancient Israel, primarily language and literature, plus history and archaeology.

Rendsburg is the author of seven books and more than 200 articles. He also has produced two series for the Great Courses program. He has visited all the major archaeological sites of Israel, Egypt and Jordan and has done extensive research on medieval Hebrew manuscripts at leading libraries.

There will be a $5 admission fee for the lecture. Tickets go on sale Monday, Oct. 21.
