Author fest coming to Sun City West

The Write Hand, a Sun City West author fest, is 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28, in the Quail and Coyote rooms of the Sun City West Foundation building, 14465 W. R.H. Johnson Blvd. The event is open to the public and admission is free.

Fiction and non-fiction, novels, short story collections and books for children of many age groups are among the different categories. Most authors are self-published and their books are not generally available in bookstores. At last count, there will be 16 published authors participating.

While the fest is primarily an opportunity for the authors to showcase their efforts and offer their books for sale, it is also a chance for residents and others to meet the writers and gain firsthand insight into their books and motivation.

There will also be seven individual raffles during the course of the event, as well as a small group of vendors offering book related merchandise. Bring checks or cash for purchases.
