    Stars have two golfers among the top five at Bloomington Invite

    Kennedy’s Kardell aces 18th at Dwan for big highlight

    Fueled by a 3-under 65 by Woodbury senior Carter Spalding, the Royals won the Bloomington Invite with a 290, four strokes ahead of runner-up Breck and six strokes ahead of third-place Shakopee.

    Holy Angels was three shots back in fourth place (299), Jefferson (307) was fifth and Kennedy (348) was eighth.

    Individually, the Stars had two golfers among the top five scorers including senior Sam Van Brocklin (71) and junior David Fong III (72).

    Van Brocklin had two birdies and 12 pars on the par 68 course including a string of 5-of-6 pars on the front 9.

    Fong was 1-under through five holes before closing out the fron 9 with three bogeys on the final four holes. He pared the first eight holes on the back before closing out with a double bogey on the 135-yard par 3, Hole 18.

    Holy Angels senior teammates Henrik Nelson and Sam Certain rounded out the team scoring with Nelson (77) finishing 18th, Certain (79) in 26th, Grady Schaber (80) in 28th and Brady Nygren (81) in 36th.

    Jefferson senior Teagan Dunphy tied for seventh place to lead the team with a round of 73 with five bogeys to go with 13 pars. Sophomore Mac Petersen carded a 76 to place 17th, sophomore Nolan Hultgren (78) in 23rd and seniors Adam Duerwachter (80) in 28th and Josh Weringa (87) in 41st.

    Kennedy junior Dylan Korman paced the team with a round of 75 to place 13th while senior Ryan Kardell finished 28th with a round of 80 including a hole-in-one on the par-3 135-yard Hole 18 to close out his round on a high note.

    Junior Marvin Miller (88) was 42nd, senior Carter Pazahanick (105) was 46th, freshman Joey Raymond (106) was 47th and senior Sully Krouth (107) was 48th.
