Holy Angels (4-2) used a pair of Emmett Anderson touchdowns and 237 yards on the ground to spoil Homecoming 2024 at Benilde-St. Margaret’s by a score of 21-14 on Saturday.

Anderson, a junior, broke off a 60-yard touchdown before halftime to enter the break tied at 7-7.

He added a second score on a 3-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter to tie the game at 14-14 before quarterback Damian Devine ran for the game-winning touchdown from 2 yards out to take a 21-14 lead.

Anderson ran for triple digits for a third time this season after posting 161 yards, one touchdown against SMB on Sept. 20 and 158 yards and two touchdowns in the season opener against Minneapolis North on Aug. 30.

BSM’s Sean Washington opened the scoring on a 5-yard touchdown in the first quarter. The Red Knights took a 14-7 early into the third quarter as reigning Skyway Yellow Subdistrict Receiver of the Year Khalif Brown ran for a 12-yard touchdown.

Devine completed five passes for 44 yards, including three catches with Gavin Coughlin and two with Isaiah Bird-Winston.

Holy Angels wrap up the regular season against a pair of Skyway Green opponents, including Friday’s road game at Rocori (4-2), before returning home to Stardome to face Hutchinson (3-3) on Wednesday, Oct. 16. Kickoff is set for both games at 7 p.m.
