But Edina was not awarded that berth Sonsnowski found out last Saturday morning. ...

The day began with Williams winning the 100-meter...

Minnetonka head coach Jane Reimer-Morgan knows that 1000 points in the Section 7AAA True Team Meet are usually enough to give her track team a state berth. May 8, on the Hopkins High Stadium track, 999 points did the trick for the two-time defending state champions. The winner of each section meet is an automatic qualifier for state True Team, which begins at 3 p.m. Friday, May 17, at Stillwater High School. There are eight section team champions in that meet along with four wild-card...

The sun had not yet risen on the morning of May 11 when the old Minnesota state flag was brought down the flagpole. When the light finally did hit the state capitol in St. Paul, it lit up a brand new one, officially marking it as the official flag of the North Star State. “I wouldn’t have missed this,” Minnesota Historical Society Director and CEO Kent Whitworth said. “I wouldn’t have been anywhere else on the planet but right here on this day.” ...

Another rainy day at Hamline Elite track
Four out of the last five Aprils, track athletes and fans have enjoyed everything about the Hamline Elite Meet except the weather. It almost seems the Hamline extravaganza is jinxed. One year it might be raining hard, the next year it might be 36 degrees, and the next year it might be both raining and cold. The meet was tolerable last Friday, but there was intermittent rain and a steady wind. Therefore, meet records from past seasons were not broken. ...
