    ‘Cats defeat Orioles, Storm

    The Waconia softball team went 3-3 last week, sweeping the double header with St. Louis Park 11-3 and 5-0 before losing both games with a double header against Chaska 14-0 and 10-8. The Wildcats then defeated Chanhassen 7-5 before a 23-10 loss to Rosemount.

    The Wildcats got production throughout the lineup in the 11-3 win over St. Louis Park on Monday, with eight players recording a hit. Nicole Weinberger had four hits to lead the ‘Cats, while Reagan Mieras and Lydia Plagge each had three. Madelyn Grover, Mieras and Plagge each had two RBIs to lead the ‘Cats. Eleanor Stejskal picked up the win in seven innings of work, with two runs allowed.

    Stejskal earn the win again in game two of the double header, pitching seven innings with no earned runs in a 5-0 victory for Waconia. Grover led the Wildcats at the plate with two hits and two RBI’s, while Mieras also had two hits.

    Waconia nearly bounced back from a loss in game one of a double header against Chaska, outhitting the Hawks 8-5 in a 7-5 loss. Weinberger had a home run, two hits and two RBIs to lead the Wildcats, while Grover also had two hits and two RBIs. Mieras and McKenna Varner both had multi-hit days as well.

    Grover’s big day led Waconia to victory over Chanhassen on Friday, as the first baseman homered twice, tallying three hits and five RBIs in the win. Mieras and Keaveny also had RBIs in the win as well. Ada Harmon had a multi-hit day with two hits. Haley Andrews earned the win on the mound in seven innings of work.

    Waconia tallied 10 runs on twelve hits, but lost 23-10 to Rosemount on Saturday. Harmon, Keaveny and Varner each hit a home run in the win, with Grover and Harmon leading the team in RBIs with three each. Weinberger had three hits, while Keaveny Mieras and Varner each had two.
