Wildcats take first and third at cross country meet

The Waconia cross country team traveled to Montgomery, MN for the Gerry Smith Invitational, where the girls took first place out of 25 teams and the boys were third out of 29 teams.

Danica Kendrick led the girls with a fifth-place finish of 19 minutes, 41.5 seconds.

Avery Hess and Jadie Goehring also placed in the top 10 by going 8-9 in a photo-finish with times of 20:14.5 and 20:14.7. Brekken Miller was 19th (20:49.1) and Hazel Dubbe was 26th (21:19.4).

Mitchell Moyer led the boys with a ninth-place finish (17:03.9) and was followed by Soren Kendrick (17:50.9), Gunnar Gorrie (17:59.0), Jackson Klingelhutz (18:07.3) and Sam Catron (18:21.7).
