Matt Mann Hall of Fame Induction Friday

North Dakota State University inducted Matt Mann into the Bison Athletic Hall of Fame this Friday, Sept. 20, at a luncheon during NDSU’s homecoming weekend. Mann is part of the school’s 52nd annual class to be inducted.

Mann, currently of Young America, graduated from Park Center High School in Brooklyn Park, Minn., and was an outfielder on the Bison baseball team from 2000 to 2002. The NCAA Division II batting champion in 2001 with a school-record .517 batting average, Mann is still NDSU’s all-time leading hitter with a career .435 average in 117 games among other school records.

He played five years of independent minor league baseball and was named Central League Rookie of the Year in 2003 with the Coastal Bend Aviators. He played for the Victoria Vics from 2011 to 2016, winning a Minnesota state amateur championship in 2012.

Mann owns a carpentry business and coaches youth wrestling and baseball in the Young America area.
