    Chanhassen defeats Waconia on football field

    The Chanhassen football team moved to 2-2 on the season with a 27-0 win over Waconia Friday night.

    The Storm jumped out to an early lead after a big run led to a 2-yard score from Riley Syverson. Nathan Rambler then found James Kopfmann for a 27-yard touchdown to put Chanhassen up 13-0 after the first quarter. Ramler and Kopfmann would connect again in the second quarter with a 10-yard touchdown, before Ramler scored a 1-yard touchdown to put the final score at 27-0.

    Ramler completed 20 passes for 149 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Kopfmann caught seven passes for 68 yards and two touchdowns, while Ty Jensen had eight catches for 46 yards. Taven Jenkins caught three passes for 16 yards, while Carson Hinz had a 5-yard catch and Loghan Gustad had a 13-yard catch.

    Coleman Zielinski ran for 176 yards on 21 carries (8.4 yards per carry).

    Carter Carstens led the defense with nine tackles, Jack Carlson had a sack and Logan Smith had an interception.

    The Storm heads to Mankato West Sept. 27.

    Volleyball

    The Chanhassen volleyball team went 5-1 last week to move to 13-4 on the season. The Storm defeated Benilde-St. Margaret’s 3-0 (25-23, 25-16, 25-23) and Edina 3-0 (25-17, 25-15, 25-14), before going 3-1 at the Hastings Invitational. The Storm bounced back from a 2-1 loss to St. Croix Lutheran, with 2-0 wins over North St. Paul, Anoka and Orono.

    Girls tennis

    The Chanhassen girls tennis team defeated St. Louis Park 6-1 last week. Kegan Van Asten won 6-2, 6-2; Lily Christensen won 6-2, 6-0; and Piper Christensen won 6-2, 6-1 to give the Storm a sweep in the singles matches.

    Ryan Klett and Bryn Spletstoser won 6-1, 3-6 and 10-4; while Ava Muslof and KIendal Grant won 6-2, 7-6.

    Girls soccer

    The Chanhassen girls soccer team defeated Chaska 5-0 before a 3-1 loss to Benilde-St. Margaret’s to move to 6-2-2 on the season. Bella Naples scored three goals in the win and tallied an assist. Marnie Hansen and Caplyn Cusick also scored. Sofia Erickson, Rylee Knudtson and Clara Gardepy each recorded an assist. Naples scored the lone goal against B-SM off an assist from Natalie Carlson.
