Watertown-Mayer sports update

Football

The Watertown-Mayer football team lost to Litchfield 48-21 Oct. 4.

Matthew Isakson threw a pair of touchdown passes to Nathan Ragner, connecting twice from 28 yards out. Isakson also ran for a 25-yard touchdown.

Deacon O’Brien and Kyler Burmeister led the defense with nine tackles each. Trevor Lange and Sam Plahn both had a sack. Tufte had a tackle for loss and a fumble recovery. Burmeister blocked a kick.

The Royals travel to Dassel-Cokato Oct. 11.

Boys soccer

The Watertown-Mayer boys soccer team closed out the regular season with a 3-0 win over Big Lake before a 2-1 loss to Waconia.

Payton Stanley, Joel Zbinden and Micah Schmidt each scored a goal in the win, with assists from Stanley, Lonne Gilbert and Brayden Eggiman. Stanley also scored against Waconia.
