Chickens move to 4040 Regent Avenue North

Eggs and entertainment: Brynn Okeson plans to keep four chickens at 4040 Regent Avenue North, Robbinsdale. Per city code, a person keeping or maintaining more than two chickens must obtain a permit and invite neighbors to a public hearing regarding said permit. The resident needs to follow proper collection and disposal of animal waste, proper storage of food and prevent pest invasion of food spillage and proper supply of water.

The police chief, community development director, code enforcement and building official and other city staff approved this permit. At the public hearing, neighbors spoke in favor of the chickens. The council voted unanimously to grant the permit July 16.
